Celtic and Rangers are interested in signing departing Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas in the summer transfer window, according to The Lancashire Telegraph. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers star is leaving Leeds this summer, and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers want to secure his services on a free transfer.
Douglas spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship from Premier League club Leeds. It was clear last summer that the Whites were not going to hand him a new deal. The 31-year-old made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Rovers this past season, providing two assists in the process.
Rangers won the Scottish Premiership title this past campaign and could play in the Champions League next season. Celtic, who had won the championship for nine years running, will be determined to reclaim the title in 2021-22.
