Celtic have made a bid of £3 million for Ivan Toney turned down by Peterborough United, according to Football Insider. However, the League One club in England have turned down that offer from the Glasgow giants.
Brentford, West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth are among the clubs interested in Toney, who is one of the best strikers in the lower leagues in England. The former Newcastle United man scored 24 goals and provided six assists in 32 League One matches for the Posh during the 2019-20 campaign, while in the 2018-19 season, he scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 44 league fixtures.
With Peterborough to play in League One during the 2020-21 campaign, it is hard to see Toney stay at the club as he has proven to be too good for the division. However, with the English side reportedly looking for £9m-£10m as transfer fee for the 24-year-old, Celtic will need to increase their initial offer by a lot to bring him to Glasgow.
