With Scottish transfer window slamming shut on Friday, Brendan Rodgers is believed to be working around the clock to bring in more additions in what’s been a relatively disappointing market for the Hoops.
Celtic managed to turn Scott Bain and Odsonne Edouard’s loans into permanent deals and also brought Emilio Izaguirre and Daniel Arzani but are now looking into a possibility to bring the Manchester City midfielder, Douglas Luiz.
The 20-year-old Brazilian arrived in England from Vasco da Gama last summer but was immediately loaned out to City’s sister club Girona as Citizens hoped such a move would increase his chances of getting a work permit approved.
Manchester City have been disappointed to learn that work permit application for Luiz was rejected and will be forced to send their player on another loan.
According to Herald, Celtic are now hoping that a prospect of Luiz playing so close to Manchester will be of appeal for City knowing that work permit regulations are not as stringent in Scotland as they are in England.
