Voetbal International has revealed that Celtic are among the clubs that have submitted official proposals for Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason.
The 24-year-old forward has become one of the hottest commodities in the summer transfer window and everything suggests he will be leaving for greener pastures by the end of the transfer window.
Voetbal International has suggested that both Celtic and Augsburg have made official bids for the Iceland international, but these were swiftly rejected.
Heerenveen chief Gaston Sporre has confirmed reports, while hinting the player can leave if the right offer comes along.
“It is true that the proposals have arrived, but the amounts were not interesting enough,” Heerenveen interim director Gastom Sporre was quoted as saying in Voetbal International.
After scoring 24 goals in 33 Eredivisie matches last term, Finnbogason has enjoyed a bright start to the new league campaign as well, netting three times in the opening two games.
If he continues performing at this level, it won’t be long before he joins a top European club.
