Scottish giants Celtic are said to be closing in on RB Leipzig defender Marvin Compper.
The experienced 32-year-old German shot-stopper is contracted to the Bundesliga hot-shots until 2019 but Sky Sports understands that RB Leipzig are willing to let him go in January.
Compper is said to have already visited Celtic and the city of Glasgow last week and a deal believed to be worth £1 million in reportedly on the table.
Former Fiorentina, Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach defender has been an integral part of RB Leipzig’s defence last season but saw his playing time getting severely limited this term.
He only made two Bundesliga appearances in the 2017/18 campaign and a departure seems imminent as German defender looks to revive his career.
Compper will arrive at Celtic as a direct replacement for Erik Sviatchenko, who’s had some injury problems during the current campaign.
Celtic currently sit top of the table in Scottish Premiership with a two-point lead in front of Aberdeen in second.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are given 1/50 betting odds to defend the title.
