According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Celtic are now in advanced talks over the potential signing of West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti. The belief is that they want to bring him up to Glasgow on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for a fee of around £5 million.
The aim from Ajeti’s point of view seems to be based on him playing regular first team football, and when you consider the fact that Celtic will be playing some kind of European football during the campaign, it makes a lot of sense. The interest in him has been there ever since last summer, even before he made the move down to East London.
Several clubs across Europe are also still believed to be in the mix for his signature, even after he made less than 10 appearances for the Hammers during the 2019/20 season. Either way, it doesn’t seem as if this deal is going to be as simple as many Celtic fans are hoping.
