Celtic interested in Given

(GSM) – Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed his interest in Manchester City’s unsettled goalkeeper Shay Given.

The Bhoys’ manager is keen to bring the keeper to Celtic Park on loan.

Given’s City future is uncertain after Joe Hart started the season as the club’s first-choice keeper.

And while the Republic of Ireland international is in search for first-team football, Celtic are keen to sign a new keeper after the summer sale of Artur Boruc to Fiorentina.

“If it was a possibility then of course,” Lennon said of Given. “He’s one of the best keepers in the Premier League.

“We’ve been linked with a lot of players and there’s been speculation on a lot of players.

“I don’t really want to comment on players coming in or going out. I’m just concentrating on the game on Thursday.”

Still the Bhoys manager’s main priority is to prepare his team for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Utrecht.
