Celtic look to seal Hooiveld deal

(GSM) – Glasgow based SPL giants Celtic are closing in on AIK’s Dutch defender Jos Hooiveld.

The commanding centre-half has travelled to Glasgow for a medical and is expected to sign as soon as the clubs have reached an agreement.

The 26-year-old, who began his professional career with SC Heerenveen, was instrumental when AIK won the Swedish title last year and the club are thought to want around €1.5m for their star.

AIK sports director Bjorn Wesstrom told Sportbladet: “I am in Glasgow and negotiations are going on between the clubs.

“I will be a good deal for AIK if it takes place.”

Hooiveld’s agent Alex Kroes added: “It’s correct, Celtic really want him.

“When the final negotiations start, I will travel to Glasgow.”
