Celtic ponder Gerrard loan

Sunday People is reporting that Glasgow Celtic aim to try and sign soon-to-be LA Galaxy star Steven Gerrard on a short-term loan during the close season in the MLS.

The Liverpool icon is set to join LA Galaxy when his contract at Anfield expires in the summer, and he will be looking to help his new side in the second part of the campaign that lasts until December.

And with new MLS season starting in March 2016, Celtic want Gerrard to join them on a three-month loan next winter.

A number of Premier League sides would probably be interested as well if the midfielder hadn’t already ruled out playing against Liverpool in England’s elite division.

The likes of Thierry Henry, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan are some of the high-profile players who took advantage of the MLS close season to compete in English Premier League and it remains to be seen whether Steven Gerrard will follow in their footsteps.
