Celtic ponder Odegaard loan

Scottish champions Glasgow Celtic hope to recruit Real Madrid wonderkid Martin Odegaard on a season-long loan, according to AS.

The Norway international will tour Australia and China in pre-season with los Blancos, but will then be farmed out on loan to gain much needed first team experience.

And while the likes of Malaga, Villarreal and Real Betis are showing interest, Scottish giants Celtic also hope to win the chase.

Namely, the Bhoys manager Ronny Deila coached Odegaard at Stromsgodset and he has since remained in touch with the youngster and his family.

Having also supported the player’s efforts to join Real Madrid, the talented coach hopes the midfielder will ultimately pay him back by moving to Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Martin Odegaard was handed his first team debut at Santiago Bernabeu on the final day of the La Liga campaign, but he has already nailed down a regular starting berth in the national team.
