Paris Saint-Germain’s Timothy Weah, the son of former Monaco and AC Milan player and 1995 Ballon d’Or winner George – now the president of Liberia, is set to leave the French club on loan, and according to The Guardian, he is set to join Celtic.
The Scottish champions and their manager Brendan Rodgers have only Odsonne Edouard fit and available to play up front, with Leigh Griffiths on a temporary leave due to non-football problems.
Weah announced his plans to leave Parc des Princes on loan in January in an Instagram post, and he has since connected with several Celtic players via that social platform. The last game the 18-year-old appeared in for PSG was played as far back as August, and he will be hoping of a more prominent role in Scotland in the second half of the season, given their decimated attacking options.
Celtic will, however, look to sign one more striker along with Weah.
