Celtic are interested in signing Tomas Kalas, currently on loan at Bristol City from Chelsea. That is according to Birmingham Mail, who also claim the Scottish Premier League champions are preparing a £5 million for the defender.
Kalas has so far played 30 games for the promotion chasing Bristol City in all competitions this season, in what is his seventh loan spell away from Chelsea, and his performances have been impressive enough to attract the attention of Celtic.
The Czech international has played only four times for Chelsea, back in 2013/14. He clearly had no place in the plans of either Jose Mourinho in his second spell at Stamford Bridge, or Antonio Conte afterwards, or Maurizio Sarri at the moment. However, with the Londoners’ two-window transfer ban confirmed to kick in this summer, they are likely to think any departure through thoroughly before allowing anyone to leave.
Kalas’ Chelsea contract is set to run for further two years.
