Celtic want to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier

Celtic are interested in signing Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. The report has claimed that Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are admirers of England international Dier, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder.

Dier was left out of the Tottenham matchday squad for the opening Premier League game of the season against Brentford this past weekend. Spurs are reportedly willing to sell the 29-year-old this summer. Crystal Palace are among the clubs who are keen on signing Dier, who could leave Tottenham before the summer transfer window.

The defender has made 270 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career, scoring 12 goals and giving nine assists in the process. The 29-year-old made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.
