(GSM) – Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc is close to ending his colourful spell at Celtic after the SPL giants accepted of an offer from Fiorentina.
Fiorentina announced on their website on Monday evening that the veteran goalkeeper would complete his move to Italy after undergoing a medical.
Celtic have opted to sell Boruc, who had one year left on his contract, rather than risk losing the 30-year-old for nothing next summer.
The statement read: “FC Fiorentina announces that it has reached agreement with Glasgow Celtic for the acquisition of Artur Boruc. The negotiations will be completed after the results of the medical.”
The deal continued a busy day in the transfer market for Celtic, who confirmed the arrival of Joe Ledley on a four-year contract after seeing a loan deal for Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard fall through.
