AS Roma starlet Cenk Under has moved to reveal that he had rejected a move to Manchester City last summer.
The 20-year-old joined the Giallorossi from Istanbul Basaksehir in July 2017, and has since largely impressed, scoring 5 Serie A goals.
Under has clearly made the right choice in signing for AS Roma, as he could have also joined Premier League giants Manchester City.
“I received an offer from Manchester City but I didn’t accept,” Under told Spor Arena Plus.
“Roma’s project and the attitude of the club was important for me, then with the sale of Mohamed) Salah the team was more suited to my characteristics.
“As (sporting director) Monchi says, I can become important for the future of this team.
“As for Di Francesco, he’s an excellent Coach who gives a lot of importance to discipline and tactical work.
“He gives every player a chance, he trusts them and keeps rotating them. He always wants the best in training and we have a good relationship.”
Cenk Under did well to nail down a regular starting berth at Stadio Olimpico, while he has also impressed on international stage, scoring 4 goals in 8 Turkey caps.
