Cercle beat Club in Brugge derby

(GSM) – Club Brugge suffered their second defeat in three games, losing 3-1 to local rivals Cercle to drop to ninth place in the Belgian Pro League.

The local derby had been under way for ten minutes when Renato Neto put Cercle in the lead, but Carl Hoefkens netted an equaliser four minutes before the hour.

Frederik Boi restored Cercle’s lead nine minutes later however and Bernt Evens made it 3-1 in the 72nd.

Club Brugge finished the match two players down as Ivan Perisic conceded a second yellow card in the 62nd minute and Dorge Kouemaha was handed a straight red near the full time whistle.

Genk maintained their perfect record meanwhile, beating Charleroi 5-0 with two goals from Kevin De Bruyne, two from Elianiv Barda and one from Jelle Vossen.

Only Genk and Mechelen have a perfect record after three rounds of games have been completed.
