Cesena reignite their interest in Mutu

Cesena are ready to reignite their interest in Mutu, provided he is available for free in the summer.

The Serie A strugglers were close to signing the Romanian in January and are now ready to launch another assault.

“The idea to sign him in January came from President Campedelli,” Cesena sporting director Lorenzo Minotti said.

“The Romanian was just one step away from joining us.

“When we sit down at the end of the season to discuss our market plans we will certainly evaluate going back for Mutu.

“However, we could only afford to do that if he was free of his Fiorentina contract. Cesena can only think about paying Mutu’s wages and not a transfer fee for him.”
