Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nacer Chadli has revealed that he rejected the chance to join Swansea City on loan last month, Sky Sports understands.
The Belgium international was one of seven big money signings made by the North London club, and like a number of his fellow new arrivals, had struggled to make an impact on the first team though he has struggled with injury.
The 24 year old, who joined from Dutch side FC Twente, came off the bench to score his first Premier League goal in the 4-0 rout at Newcastle United on Wednesday evening, and is now keen to help push Spurs into the top four.
Chadli has made twenty-three appearances in all competitions for Spurs, scoring one goal in the league, the Europa League and the League Cup.
Tim Sherwood’s side sit just three points behind Liverpool, who are the current occupants of fourth place, and will hope to close the gap when the Premier League recommences after this weekend’s FA Cup fifth round fixtures.
