Chelsea are set to open talks about a new contract with Trevoh Chalobah, according to Sky Sports.
As things stand at the moment, the 22-year-old is bound to the London Blues for two more years, and following discussions with manager Thomas Tuchel, the club hierarchy have decided to make an effort to have Chalobah realize he’s a big part of their plans for the future.
Chalobah has had loan spells with Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient in the past, but this time he’s expected to remain at Stamford Bridge for the season and prove himself worthy of a place in Tuchel’s squad as they seek to defend their Champions League title and strive to win the Premier League as well. He played in their UEFA Super Cup triumph against Villarreal, and scored his first Premier League goal in their win over Crystal Palace in the opening week.
The young centre-back will be hoping that his excellent performance in that match will warrant him a start against Arsenal on Sunday too.
