Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has revealed that he would be open to a move to Sunderland this summer.
The 25-year-old is keen on a move to the Premier League and has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Brodeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has claimed Sunderland is not a big enough club for the Morocco international.
“I want to make the right choice, I don’t want to leave just to leave,” Chamakh told Moroccan website mountakhab.net. “That’s why I’m taking my time.
“I’m not worried. I have concrete offers and it’s up to me to make the right choice. It shouldn’t take too long because the club will have to replace me if I leave.
“I understand the president, but it’s not up to him to tell me where I should go. But it’s nice of him to say I deserve a better club.
“Now I have my own desires. I always said that I wanted to discover the Premier League.
“I’m not spitting on Sunderland. That track is not at all discarded.”
