Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has ruled out a move to Sunderland for striker Marouane Chamakh.
The highly-rated Moroccan has been linked with several clubs, including Sunderland and Arsenal, in recent weeks.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he could make a move for Triaud if Emmanuel Adebayor leaves the club this summer.
Triaud told AFP: “We never received any offers for Marouane Chamakh and what is he going to do in Sunderland?
“I don’t want to insult Sunderland, but I don’t even know where they finished last season.
“You have heard him say he will only sign for a big English club.”
