On-loan Arsenal youngster Aaron Ramsey’s return to football was overshadowed as Leicester City defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Monday.
Ramsey, substituted on at the 61st-minute mark, saw his first competitive action since suffering a horrific broken leg at Stoke City in February.
But his return was not a winning one, as Leicester’s leading scorer Andy King – after Darius Vassell’s good work – added his eighth goal of the season in the 59th minute to earn the points for Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side.
Former England striker Vassell brushed past two Forest defenders into the area before playing a ball across goalkeeper Lee Camp to King, who had the easy task of depositing the pass from close-range.
Forest’s loss, their first in five games, sees them fall to ninth on the table with 27 points. Leicester climb to 14th with two fewer.
