Cardiff City reclaimed top spot in the Championship as a Craig Conway goal saw them to a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
Malky Mackay’s promotion hopefuls needed until the 80th minute to break through against struggling Wednesday at Cardiff City Stadium.
The win lifts Cardiff a point clear of Crystal Palace, while they sit five points ahead of third-placed Leicester City.
Despite their dominance in the first half, the hosts were unable to get past Chris Kirkland, as Jordon Mutch and captain Mark Hudson were both denied.
Wednesday, who sit in the relegation zone following what was their sixth straight loss, had opportunities of their own after the break but were also wasteful.
Kirkland looked like he may keep Cardiff at bay until Conway netted after a Joe Mason pass.
At Turf Moor, Blackburn saw their winless run extended to three matches after being held to a 1-1 draw by fierce rivals Burnley in the East Lancashire derby.
Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes continued his fine goal-scoring form, netting his fifth goal in four matches with a headed opener on 68 minutes.
But the hosts fought back to level a minute before full-time as substitute Sam Vokes equalised four minutes after being introduced.
