Blackpool have consolidated their lead at the top of the Championship after crushing Ipswich Town 6-0 at Bloomfield Road.
The home side went into half-time with a 2-0 lead thanks to a 13th-minute own goal by Aaron Cresswell and a strike from Gary Taylor-Fletcher just before the break.
Blackpool then shifted gears in the second half, putting four past a hapless Ipswich. Thomas Ince was the star of the show with a race, while Craig Cathcart and Nouha Dicko also netted to complete the rout.
Elsewhere, Bristol City defeated Cardiff 4-2 at Ashton Gate. Stephen Pearson put the home side ahead on 32 minutes before Martyn Woolford scored on the stroke of half-time to give Derek McInnes’ side a 2-0 lead at the break.
Tommy Smith got Cardiff back in it with a 57th-minute goal but Bristol soon restored their two-goal buffer as Woolford scored his second 13 minutes later.
Heidar Helguson gave the Welsh side a glimmer of hope with a late goal before Sam Baldock put the result beyond doubt in the 87th minute.
Miguael Llera was the hero as Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Millwall 3-2 at Hillsbrough.
The game looked to be heading for a draw before Llera scored in the 90th minute to seal a memorable win. The result sees Sheffield move up into second place on the table.
Blackburn Rovers are behind them on goal difference after beating Leicester City 2-1 at home.
Nuno Gomes put the home side ahead on 33 minutes before Jamie Vardy equalised for Leicester 10 minutes after the break. Morten-Gamst Pederson scored the winner for Rovers in the 79th minute.
Brighton and Hove Albion put five past Barnsley in their 5-1 win at home with Craig Mackail scoring a second-half brace in the comprehensive win.
A Luciano Becchio double helped Leeds pick up an important three points on the road as they defeated Peterborough 2-1 to move up to sixth on the table.
Middlesbrough recorded their second win of the season after a 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace while Huddersfield Town were too good for Burnley in their 2-0 win.
In other results, Wolverhampton and Derby County played out a 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic and Burnley both unable to score as they drew 0-0.
The final match of the day saw Watford account for visitors Birmingham City 2-0 thanks to goals from Almen Abdi and Matej Vydra.
