Going into the Manchester City clash five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and about to face one of Europe’s form teams, Chelsea did not look like one of the most likely candidates for the league title.
However, the impressive display and 1-0 victory over the team that had boasted 11-0-0 home record before the match changed everything for Jose Mourinho’s side, so surely they look a good bet at 9/5 at the moment.
The Portuguese manager got his tactics spot on, putting extra bodies in midfield to ensure the likes of Yaya Toure and David Silva are not given a chance to impress.
Some swift counterattacks helped the Blues create quite a few clear-cut chances, and, in all fairness, they probably should have won by a greater margin.
And even if Mourinho himself insists his side are not favourites in the title chase, everyone who’s watched the Monday’s game at the Emirates will tell you otherwise.
With the Blues yet to lose to a top 4 side this term and new signing Nemanja Matic brilliant on his first ever Premiership start, Chelsea look like they can go all the way this term.
The Stamford Bridge outfit are doing really well to compensate for the absence of a prolific centre forward, with the likes of Hazard and Oscar proving a handful for opposition defenders.
Taking also into account that Chelsea are again a real force to be reckoned with at the back, it would appear as though the title is theirs to lose.
