Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel.

The 20-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge from Vitesse Arnhem, providing he passes a medical with the Premier League club and personal terms are agreed.

The Netherlands international, who has also represented his country at Under-19 and Under-21 level, has been with the Eredivisie side his whole career having come through their academy.

He joins fellow new signing Andre Schurrle at Stamford Bridge, after the German arrived from Bayer Leverkusen.

“Chelsea Football Club and Vitesse Arnhem have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marco van Ginkel,” a statement on Chelsea’s official website confirmed.

“The player will join Chelsea subject to a medical, agreement of personal terms and legal documentation.”
