Competition: Champions League
Market: Chelsea and Dynamo Kiev to draw
Odds: 14/5 @ 888 Sport

Chelsea host Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and are in desperate need of a result in Europe to ensure their quest for success in the competition continues. Currently third in Group G, Jose Mourinho’s side could finish the week outside of the top-two qualifying spot if they drop points against their Ukrainian opposition.

Chelsea have struggled for results in both the Premier League and Champions League this season, and their poor home form has been a real worry. The Londoners have suffered six defeats in 11 domestic division in 2015/16, and have been beaten at Stamford Bridge in half their games played on home soil. Chelsea’s European campaign has been just as poor, with the 2014/15 Premier League title-winners having dropped points in their last two games.

Dynamo Kiev will be hoping to take full advantage of the Londoners’ woes in the Champions League, and will be full of confidence after earning a draw in the reverse fixture. Chelsea are one point off a top-two spot, and will turn their hopes of qualifying around if they can win against Kiev this week. However, victory for the visitors will see them in pole position to book their place in the last-16, potentially confining the Premier League giants to being all but eliminated.

As a result, there’s a lot at stake at Stamford Bridge, which brings its own pressure. The meeting between Chelsea and Kiev will be a close game to call, but given the visitors are unbeaten in Group G, and have won 10 of their 12 domestic games, Chelsea shouldn’t underestimate their opponents.
