European powerhouses Chelsea and Juventus are locked in the battle for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, Tuttosport can reveal.
The Blues plan to reinforce the midfield department following the departure of John Obi Mikel, and the talented Frenchman is one of their primary targets.
Meanwhile, Juventus have signed Tomas Rincon from Genoa, but missed out on Axel Witsel, and they too plan to make a move on Bakayoko in the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old has impressed since joining Monaco from Rennes, and it is now just a matter of time before he leaves the Principality club for greener pastures.
Bakayoko is widely regarded as one of Ligue 1’s leading holding midfielders, and it remains to be seen whether Monaco can persuade him to stay at Stade Louis II beyond the current season.
Monaco currently occupy the second place in the league standings and they are available at 10/3 to go all the way.
