Chelsea and Manchester City to battle for Ajax hotshot

Chelsea and Manchester City could enter a real bidding war for Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen, Daily Mail reveals.

The 19-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most talented midfielders in Europe, and has long ago established his status as a key player for both club and country.

The Dane is followed by a number of high-profile clubs, with Chelsea and Manchester City thought to be leading the race for his signature.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea have already offered £22 million for the Denmark international, which should be close to Ajax’s valuation of the player.

However, Manchester City are looking to hijack their bid by offering no less than £30 million.

Both clubs had the player watched in Ajax’s 4:0 Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb, and were reportedly impressed with what they’ve seen.
