It has been reported that Tottenham and Chelsea have been following Timber for nearly two years. Scouts of Spurs and Chelsea have issued glowing reports on the Netherlands international, who came through the Ajax youth system and has established himself in the first team.

Timber made 16 starts and four substitute appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season, scoring one goal in the process. The defender has played four times in the league and once in the Champions League so far this campaign.
