France boss Laurent Blanc has moved to the top of the list of potential candidates for the vacant managerial position at Chelsea, Le Parisien understands.
Italian coach Roberto Di Matteo has done well since Andre Villas-Boas was sacked and he will be allowed to finish the season at Stamford Bridge, but club owner Roman Abramovich is eager to sign a high-profile boss for the next season.
A number of world-class managers has been linked with a coaching job at Stamford Bridge, but Le Parisien claims that Laurent Blanc is the favourite to take over the reigns from Roberto Di Matteo.
Chelsea are prepared to offer the France boss a contract worth around €1 million per month, which would make him one of the highest paid coaches in world football.
Blanc is widely tipped to leave les Bleus after the European Championships and he is expected to return to club football.
The talented manager also has an offer from Inter, but Le Parisien claims that he prefers the one from England.
