Mere days before their huge Champions League clash with Real Madrid, Chelsea suffered a shocking defeat at home at the hands of Brentford on Saturday. Antonio Rudiger scored for the Blues three minutes into the second half, but Vitaly Janelt (twice), Christian Eriksen and Yoane Wissa made sure the Bees flew away with a 1-4 victory and the three points in their bag.
Speaking to the press afterwards, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel dismissed suggestions his team were affected by thoughts about Real Madrid in this game.
🗣 “Why should we think about Real Madrid suddenly when we won zero ahead.”
