Chelsea boss Tuchel confident of Rudiger stay amid Real and PSG interest

Speaking to the press ahead of his team’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said he saw no reason for Antonio Rudiger to leave the club. Meanwhile, according to Goal.com, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation closely.

The 28-year-old defender is in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and despite the fact that his career took a turn for the better since Tuchel took the reigns in January, there has been no progress over a new deal. The Germany international has been on great form this year, and the uncertainty about his future is definitely something Chelsea need to deal with pretty soon if they don’t want to lose his services for free.

The Blues won the Champions League last season, and following the return of striker Romelu Lukaku to the club this summer, they are widely seen as one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this term. That, along with Rudiger’s significance for the team, does make Tuchel’s point valid.
