French daily newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Premier League holders Chelsea are hot on the trail of Nice hotshot Jean-Michael Seri.
The Ivorian is widely tipped to join a top European club at the end of the season, with Barcelona and Manchester City some of the clubs showing interest in his signature.
According to L’Equipe, Chelsea have also joined the chase as they look to reinforce the midfield department after a largely disappointing campaign.
Having enquired about the possibility of recruiting the Ivorian in the summer, the Blues have been told it would take around €40 million to sign the 26-year-old footballer.
After impressing to score 7 goals in the previous Ligue 1 campaign, Seri was on the verge of joining Barcelona last summer, but the deal eventually failed to materialise.
