Chelsea chase Van der Vaart

(GSM) – Chelsea is closing in on Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, according to reports in this morning’s papers.

Representatives of the Dutch international have already begun talks with Stamford Bridge officials over a summer move, thought to be worth £10million.

The 27-year-old playmaker is keen on a move away from the Bernabeu after falling down in Real’s pecking order since the arrival of Xabi Alonso and Kaka last summer.

Chelsea are looking to replace Deco, who is set to leave at the end of the season.
