Premier League giants Chelsea are close to wrapping up a deal for Benfica stopper Victor Lindelof, according to Record.
It is no secret that the Blues are in the market for defensive reinforcements, and they appear to have set their sights on the Sweden international.
Record has suggested that Chelsea are so determined to bring Lindelof to Stamford Bridge that they are ready to match his £25 million release clause.
The Blues will attempt to close the deal while both the player and Benfica chiefs are in England, with the Eagles currently training at St George’s Park.
This time last year, the 22-year-old was getting ready for another season of warming the bench, but he then took his chance when his rivals for a starting berth were out injured and never looked back.
Lindelof has since managed to prove his worth at club and international level, and is now one of Europe’s most sought after defenders.
