Chelsea close to Chilwell deal

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal that will see them sign Leicester City star Ben Chilwell.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has reportedly been very interested in bringing in a new left back, with Chilwell being located towards the top of his wish list. The belief is that there are set to be major developments over the course of the next week or so, with Leicester demanding a large fee – as you’d expect.

Chilwell’s pedigree has been proven throughout the most recent Premier League campaign, and Chelsea are well aware of what he’s capable of. Lampard will know that one of the club’s weakest areas has been their defensive problems, and if they’re serious about challenging for the title at some point over the next few years, they need to bring in a few reinforcements that are capable of changing the game.
