Chelsea are in advanced talks with Ajax about the transfer of Hakim Ziyech, according to Sky Sports.
The Morocco international is primarily a right winger, but he’s fully capable of operating as a number 10, directly behind a striker. Last season he was one of the key players as Ajax blasted their way past the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus to reach the Champions League semi-final. This term, he has racked up 29 goal involvements (eight goals, 21 assists) in as many games for the Dutch champions in all competitions so far.
Apparently, Chelsea have been working on the deal for a while now and continued doing so after the January window closed, and they are expected to pay £38 million for his services. Everything is expected to be arranged and publicly announced in the next couple of days, and providing there are no unexpected issues, the 26-year-old should move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
