His contract has expired and the 33-year-old did not get a new one, as he was not a regular in Maurizio Sarri’s team this season. Cahill won eight major honours at Stamford Bridge since joining from Bolton in 2012. Two of them are Premier League titles, while also winning Europa League titles in 2013 and 2019 and the Champions League in 2012.
The centre-back is not expected to retire and so will be on the lookout for a new club over the summer. It will be interesting to see where he will end up and how much interest will there be from other Premier League clubs.
