Chelsea are considering a surprise move for Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, according to the Mirror.
The Premier League champions are keen to add more firepower to their squad with last year’s top scorer Diego Costa appearing to have played his final game for the club.
There is also uncertainty surrounding the future of fellow forward Michy Batshuayi, who has started just two Premier League games since signing from Marseille just over twelve months ago.
Vardy has made one hundred and ninety-four appearances in all competitions since signing from Fleetwood Town in the summer of 2012, scoring sixty-eight goals.
That tally includes twenty-four Premier League strikes in the East Midlands’ sides title winning 2015/16 campaign, when he was also named the division’s Player of the Year and given the same accolade by Football Writers.
Internationally, he has been capped sixteen times for his country so far, scoring six goals.
