Chelsea could sell Mateo Kovacic

Chelsea are willing to sell Mateo Kovacic in the summer of 2023, according to The Guardian. The report has claimed that the 28-year-old Croatia international central midfielder is among a number of players the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are willing to offload at the end of the season.

Kovacic has been on the books of Chelsea since 2018 when he joined from Real Madrid on a loan deal before making the move permanent. The 28-year-old has won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League with the Blues so far in his career. During his time at Madrid, Kovacic won the La Liga title once and the UEFA Champions League on three occasions.

Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 20 matches, as many as 10 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who occupy the final UEFA Champions league spot in the standings. The Blues will face Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 of the uEFA Champions League this season.
