Chelsea are interested in signing David Alaba in the summer of 2021, according to The Guardian. It has been reported that the former Premier League champions want to secure the services of the versatile Austria international on a free transfer.
Alaba is playing as a central defender for Bayern at the moment, but the 28-year-old can also operate as a left-back, right-winger, left-winger and in central midfield. The 28-year-old will leave German giants Bayern Munich at the end of the season, and Spanish and European powerhouse Real Madrid are favourites to snap him up on a free transfer.
However, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is interested in bringing Alaba to Stamford Bridge for the 2021-22 campaign and beyond. Tuchel has only recently been appointed as the manager of the Premier League club following the departure of Frank Lampard.
