Chelsea eye shock Van Persie move

Chelsea are set to make a move for Fenerbache striker Robin Van Persie, according to the Express.

The reigning Premier League champions are on the lookout for a new striker, with their current selection racking up just ten league goals so far this season – eight of which coming from top scorer Diego Costa.

The Blues have been linked with moves for both Alexander Pato of Corinthians and Alex Teixeira of Shakhtar Donetsk though with doubts over potential deals for both have now turned to the Netherlands international.

Van Persie has scored twelve goals in twenty-eight appearances in all competitions since moving to Turkey, but could be set to make a dramatic return to the England having previously spent eleven years there with spells at both Arsenal and Manchester United.

The thirty-two year old is currently tenth on the list of all time Premier League goalscorers with one hundred and forty-four goals.
