The Metro understands that Chelsea are planning a summer raid on Southampton, with both Nathaniel Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin on the Premier League leaders’ radar.

The pair have been stand-out performers for the south coast club, who are very much in contention for a European qualification place following an impressive campaign under Ronald Koeman.

Clyne’s form has seen him establish himself as England’s first choice full-back while France international Schneiderlin has been constantly linked with a move to one of Saints’ Premier League rivals, with North London duo Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal also keen.

Chelsea may have to stump up over £50m if they are to land the duo, who have played over three hundred and fifty times for Southampton between them.

Jose Mourinho’s side currently sit top of the Premier League, seven points clear of second place Arsenal with just eight games left to play, and can be backed at 4/11 to win at Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
