Chelsea are reportedly ready to bid for Schalke midfielder Max Meyer, reports German newspaper Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung.
The 18-year-old is on the verge of nailing down a regular starting berth at Veltins Arena and he has been in impressive form this season.
As a result, the Miners are set to reward him with a new and improved contract, but the reported interest from Premier League giants Chelsea could spoil their plans.
According to WAZ, the Blues are hoping to lure the youngster to Stamford Bridge at the earliest opportunity and are prepared to offer around €15 million for the player’s services.
Max Meyer has managed three goals and an assist in eight Bundesliga matches this season, while also featuring in 5 Champions League fixtures.
Schalke play host to Werder Bremen later today hoping to make amends for the 3-0 Champions League defeat to Chelsea, with the Miners 4/7 to claim maximum points.
