Reece James is interested in leaving Chelsea for Barcelona or Benfica, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that the right-back’s agent has approached both Barcelona and Benfica over a potential move.
James has had injury problems in recent times for Chelsea and has only just returned to training for the Blues. Football Transfers has claimed that “physios have advised that the warmer climes of southern Europe, particularly Spain or Portugal, could significantly aid James’ recovery and long-term fitness.”
Football Transfer has added that “the belief is that the higher average temperatures, combined with the slower pace of leagues like LaLiga or the Portuguese Primeira Liga, may reduce the risk of further injury and allow James to extend his playing career at the top level.” James has made 108 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career, scoring seven goals, providing 16 assists and keeping 20 clean sheets in the process.
