Chelsea given Griezmann boost

The Express understands that Chelsea have been given a boost in their hopes of signing Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, with the La Liga side currently eyeing potential replacements.

The Blues were linked with a move for the France international during the summer though they were unable to negotiate a deal.

They instead brought in Pedro from Barcelona though he, like a lot of his new teammates have flattered to deceive so far this season.

Chelsea’s current selection of forwards have managed just four league goals between them so far this season with last season’s top scorer Diego Costa getting two of those while Pedro and Radamel Falcao have one a piece.

Griezmann moved to Atleti in the summer of 2014 and has since racked up sixty-nine appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring thirty-two goals while he has also netted six times in twenty-two outings for his country.
