According to a recent report from Evening Standard, Chelsea have made it known they are willing to pay big money for Enzo Fernandez.
During the World Cup, Fernandez played a key role in getting Argentina all the way through to the final – where they eventually became the new world champions.
The 21-year-old is believed to have a contract with Benfica until 2027, however, he does have a release clause attached to it that is worth around £105 million. Now, after the World Cup, the Blues are more than willing to pay such a fee – as tends to be the case for players who do well at such a global event.
The youngster is one of the most intriguing players in world football and on the flip side, Chelsea are struggling to consistently prove themselves in the Premier League this season.
They need a real injection of life and Enzo could be exactly what they need.
