According to a recent report from AS, Chelsea have until the end of June to complete the permanent signing of Mateo Kovacic. The midfielder spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge, and was a regular in the first team – despite many fans believing that he didn’t quite live up to the hype. The Croatian seems to be eager to try and make a name for himself with the club if he’s given another opportunity to do so, but they’ll have to make their minds up pretty quickly. At this moment in time the biggest question mark surrounding Chelsea is simple: who is going to be their next manager? It feels as if they need to get that situation resolved before they can even begin to think about signings, especially given the nature of their transfer ban.
One thing is for sure, though, signing Kovacic would be a huge statement one way or the other.
