Speaking to the press ahead of his team’s showdown with Manchester City on Thursay, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said his club hadn’t made any kind of offer for the services of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.
Very soon after the news of their agreement with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner broke, the Londoners were tipped to make a move for Havertz too. Apart from Chelsea, the 21-year-old attacker has been linked with Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid in the past.
But Lampard was adamant that his focus, the focus of the team and the club is now strictly on the remaining games for the rest of the season, and it’s not the right time to be thinking about transfers.
Apart from Werner, Chelsea have already completed the deal to sign winger Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and have been credited with heavy interest in Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.
